Cancer Support Care Alongside Oncology in Pune

Strength, Hope, Healing. Ayurvedic support care that works with your oncologist's plan, never in place of it.

Key Takeaways
Ayurvedic Medicine is not a replacement for cancer treatment. At AMRUT AYU CARE™ its role is support care alongside oncology.
Cancer support care addresses appetite, digestion, sleep, strength and comfort during chemotherapy, radiation and recovery.
Ayurvedic Medicine is also prescribed to support quality of life and to help manage the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, such as nausea, low appetite, mouth soreness, fatigue and poor sleep, if they occur.
Chemotherapy, radiation and surgery continue exactly as the oncologist advises. We never ask a cancer patient to pause or replace them.
Every cancer support plan starts from the oncology reports and the current treatment calendar, and caregivers receive the plan in writing.
The Sunday Cancer Support OPD runs by appointment: Ghorpadi and Manjri Bk, Hadapsar in person, online for families elsewhere.
Read this first. A new lump, unexplained bleeding, a sore that does not heal, a lasting change in bowel habit, or unexplained weight loss needs evaluation by a medical specialist first. That is not a situation for an Ayurvedic OPD booking. If cancer is already diagnosed, stay with your oncologist's plan. Support care begins only alongside it.

During treatment

Treatment Saves Lives. It Also Drains Strength.

Cancer treatment tests the whole family, not only the patient. Oncology treatment is the primary treatment, and it is demanding. These are the burdens patients and caregivers describe most at the Sunday OPD.

Appetite and Digestion
Nausea, taste changes and low appetite between cycles make eating hard when nutrition matters most.
Fatigue and Low Strength
Deep tiredness builds across cycles. Strength (Bala) and vitality (Ojas) need steady, gentle support.
Sleep and Worry
Broken sleep and a restless mind are common through treatment, for the patient and the family alike.
Caregiver Load
Families carry the diet, routine and rest decisions every day. Caregivers need a clear, practical plan too.
Our role

Support Alongside Oncology, Never a Replacement

Ayurveda describes strength and resilience through Bala, Ojas and Agni, the digestive fire. Long illness and intensive treatment deplete all three. Rasayana, the classical approach to nourishment and rebuilding, guides our support plans.

Ayurvedic Medicine in this setting has one job. It keeps the patient nourished, comfortable and steady enough to complete the oncology course. Gentle Rasayana support, Pathya (personalized diet) and daily-routine guidance are timed around the treatment calendar.

Ayurvedic Medicine is also prescribed for quality of life during and after treatment, and to help manage the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation if they occur: nausea, low appetite, taste changes, mouth soreness, fatigue and broken sleep. Each medicine is chosen after the doctor reviews your oncology protocol, timed around your cycles, and shared with your oncology team. It supports you through treatment; it does not treat the cancer itself.

We review every current prescription before advising anything, and we encourage you to share our plan with your oncology team. The aim is better comfort through treatment cycles. Outcomes vary by constitution, diagnosis and stage.

The Sunday OPD

How a Sunday Consultation Works

Share the oncology plan
Bring reports, the current cycle schedule, all prescriptions and the oncologist's instructions.
Ayurvedic assessment
The doctor assesses digestion (Agni), strength (Bala), sleep and constitution (Prakruti).
A written support plan
Rasayana support, Pathya diet and a daily routine, built around the treatment calendar. Caregivers receive the same plan in writing.
Review every cycle
The plan adjusts as treatment progresses, in step with the oncology team.
Panchakarma

Where Panchakarma Fits, and Where It Does Not

Panchakarma includes both gentle nourishing therapies and strong cleansing procedures. Cleansing procedures are not advised during active chemotherapy or radiation. A weakened body needs nourishment, not depletion.

Gentle external therapies are considered only when the doctor judges strength adequate and the oncologist has no objection. That decision is made case by case at consultation, never as a fixed package.

Full Panchakarma facilities run at our Ghorpadi and Manjri Bk, Hadapsar branches. Wagholi offers in-person consultation. Kharadi and Viman Nagar consult online.

Questions patients ask

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Ayurveda cure cancer?

No. Ayurvedic Medicine does not cure cancer and we never claim it does. Our role is support care alongside oncology: supporting digestion, strength, sleep and comfort through treatment, and guiding the family. Chemotherapy, radiation and surgery remain your primary treatment.

Should I stop chemotherapy to start Ayurvedic support care?

No. Never stop, delay or reduce any treatment your oncologist has advised. Support care at AMRUT AYU CARE runs alongside oncology treatment and is timed around it.

Will Ayurvedic Medicine interfere with chemotherapy?

The plan is designed to avoid that. The doctor reviews your oncology protocol and every current prescription first, then times each supportive measure around your cycles. Share the support plan with your oncology team, and follow their word where the two differ.

Does Ayurvedic Medicine help with chemotherapy and radiation side effects?

That is one of its roles here. Ayurvedic Medicine is prescribed to support quality of life and to help manage side effects such as nausea, low appetite, mouth soreness, fatigue and poor sleep, if they occur. The doctor reviews your oncology protocol first and times each medicine around your cycles. Report any new or severe side effect to your oncologist first. Outcomes vary by individual.

When does cancer support care start?

Any stage works: at diagnosis, between chemotherapy cycles, after surgery, or during recovery. Starting early gives more time to steady appetite, digestion and strength before side effects build up.

Which branches run the Sunday Cancer Support OPD?

Ghorpadi (Main) and Manjri Bk, Hadapsar see patients in person, both with full Panchakarma facilities. Wagholi offers in-person consultation. Kharadi and Viman Nagar patients, and families outside Pune, consult online. The Sunday OPD is by appointment only.

What does the caregiver get from the consultation?

A written plan for the home: what to cook and when (Pathya), the daily routine, rest windows, and the warning signs that need the oncologist. Caregivers join the consultation, in person or on video.
