🙏 Message from Dr. Prashant Amrutkar
Dear Wellness Seekers,
Namaskar! The second week of January finds many people already struggling with their New Year health resolutions. At AMRUT AYU CARE™, we understand that sustainable health transformation requires a systematic approach, not quick fixes.
This week, we focus on digestive health. Ayurveda teaches that 80% of diseases originate from impaired digestion. When Agni (digestive fire) weakens, toxins (Ama) accumulate, leading to various health problems.
Our Monday Digestive Disorder Management Clinic has seen increased patient visits this January. Many experience post-holiday digestive complaints after December festivities. This newsletter provides practical guidance for restoring digestive balance.
Wishing you strong Agni and vibrant health.

🔥 Featured: The Foundation of Health is Digestion
Understanding Agni: Your Digestive Fire
Ayurveda considers Agni the cornerstone of health. The term refers to your body's entire metabolic and digestive capacity. When Agni functions optimally, you experience complete wellness.
✅ Signs of Optimal Agni
- Complete digestion without bloating
- Regular bowel movements
- Clear skin and bright eyes
- Stable energy throughout the day
- Strong immunity against infections
- Mental clarity and emotional balance
⚠️ Signs of Weak Agni (Mandagni)
- Heaviness after meals
- Bloating and gas
- Coated tongue in morning
- Brain fog and poor concentration
- Lethargy and fatigue
- Mood fluctuations
Four Types of Agni
| Agni Type | Characteristics | Dominant Dosha |
|---|---|---|
| Sama Agni | Balanced, optimal digestion | Balanced doshas |
| Vishama Agni | Irregular, variable appetite | Vata |
| Tikshna Agni | Sharp, excessive hunger | Pitta |
| Manda Agni | Slow, weak digestion | Kapha |
Our doctors assess your Agni type during consultation and prescribe targeted treatments to restore balance.

🔄 7-Day Post-Holiday Digestive Reset Protocol
Why January Brings Digestive Complaints
December festivities often involve heavy foods, irregular meal timings, increased sweets and fried items, late night eating, and alcohol consumption. These dietary indiscretions weaken Agni and create Ama (toxins). By January second week, accumulated effects manifest as digestive discomfort.
Your 7-Day Reset Protocol
📅 Days 1-2: Light Eating
- Consume only khichdi (rice and moong dal)
- Add ghee and cumin for digestion
- Drink warm water throughout day
- Skip heavy breakfast, start with warm lemon water
📅 Days 3-4: Introduce Vegetables
- Add cooked vegetables to khichdi
- Include digestive spices: ginger, cumin, coriander
- Avoid raw salads and cold foods
- Take Triphala at bedtime
📅 Days 5-6: Gradual Expansion
- Introduce chapati and vegetables
- Add buttermilk (takra) with lunch
- Include light soups
- Continue warm water habit
📅 Day 7: Normal Diet Resume
- Return to regular balanced meals
- Maintain meal timings
- Keep portions moderate
- Continue digestive spices

⭐ Patient Success Story
"I suffered from IBS for 10 years. Some days I had severe constipation, other days multiple loose motions. I avoided social gatherings and travel due to unpredictable symptoms. Modern medicines provided temporary relief only.
At AMRUT AYU CARE™ Hadapsar, Dr. Prashant explained my condition as Grahani caused by disturbed Vata and weakened Agni. The treatment included Basti therapy for 8 days along with internal medicines.
Within the first week, my bowel movements became regular. By day 28, I experienced 90% improvement. Now, six months later, I travel freely and eat normally. My quality of life has transformed completely.
I recommend AMRUT AYU CARE™ to everyone suffering from chronic digestive issues. Ayurveda addresses the root cause, not just symptoms."
