AMRUT AYU CARE™ runs a Vamana Panchakarma camp every spring, in the Vasanta season from mid-February to the end of March, at its Ghorpadi and Manjri Bk, Hadapsar branches. The 2026 camp has ended. Next season's dates are announced in January. Call 8698282507.

Key Takeaways
  • Vamana is the classical Panchakarma procedure for excess Kapha: supervised therapeutic emesis after several days of preparation.
  • Ayurveda times Vamana to Vasanta (spring), when accumulated Kapha liquefies and is easiest to remove. That is why the camp runs from mid-February to the end of March.
  • The 2026 camp ran from 20 February to 31 March and has ended. The next camp's dates are announced each January.
  • Vamana is given only after a doctor's assessment. Pregnancy, uncontrolled blood pressure, heart disease and marked weakness rule it out.
  • Full Panchakarma, including Vamana, runs at Ghorpadi and Manjri Bk, Hadapsar. Kharadi and Viman Nagar offer online pre-camp consultation.
Read this first. Vamana is a supervised medical procedure, never a home remedy. It is not given in pregnancy, in uncontrolled blood pressure or heart disease, in active bleeding, or in marked weakness. Anyone on regular medication continues it as prescribed and brings the list to the assessment. Sudden breathlessness or chest pain needs emergency care, not a camp booking.

What Happens in a Vamana Camp

1
Assessment
Consultation with Dr. Prashant Amrutkar or Dr. Amruta Amrutkar, with reports and medication list, to confirm Vamana suits you.
2
Poorvakarma, 3 to 7 days
Internal oleation with medicated ghee, then Abhyanga and Swedana, with evening clinic visits and a Kapha-increasing diet on the final day.
3
Pradhanakarma, the Vamana day
Supervised therapeutic emesis at the clinic in the morning, with full rest for the day.
4
Samsarjana Krama
A graded return to normal food over the following days, then a review visit.

Who the Camp Is For

Vamana is considered for adults with Kapha-dominant presentations after assessment. These are the patterns the doctors see most in the spring camp.

Kapha-type respiratory patterns
Seasonal cough with heavy phlegm, chest congestion and allergic tendencies that worsen every spring.
Skin presentations
Kapha-type skin conditions where the doctor judges cleansing appropriate before Ayurvedic Medicine.
Digestion and weight
Sluggish digestion, heaviness after meals and Kapha-type weight gain.
Seasonal maintenance
People who take a Vasanta Vamana each year as part of ritu-charya, the seasonal routine.
