Pinda sweda uses rice/ herbal powders tied in a cloth to make small boluses (Pottali). These are then heated and lightly pounded/rubbed over the body or specific parts of the body as per requirement.
Benefits: It is very helpful to increase the overall strength of the body. It is also helps to improve the muscle bulk. It also tonnes the skin and muscles. It specifically strengthens the joints like shoulder, neck and lumbar spine etc.
How it works: It helps to reduce Vata dosha. It is very helpful in blood related Vata disorders. Most of the herbs used are strengthening.
Recommended in: Asthama, frozen shoulder, weight loss etc.
Contraindications:: Pitta prakruti with heat sensitive body, skin diseases like eczema and psoriasis.
