AMRUT AYU CARE™ · Friday Men and Women Health OPD

Ayurvedic Care After an Abortion or Miscarriage

Gentle recovery care for the weeks after a pregnancy ends: rest, diet, strength and emotional support, alongside your gynaecologist.

Key Takeaways
Recovery care begins after your gynaecologist confirms the uterus is clear and any bleeding is settling.
The plan covers rest, a warm and light diet, Ayurvedic Medicine for strength and appetite, and support for sleep and mood.
Procedures such as Uttar Basti or Yoni Pichu are never done in the early weeks. They are considered later, only after an examination.
Read this first. Go to a gynaecologist or an emergency department at once for heavy bleeding (soaking two pads an hour for two hours), large clots, fever or chills, severe or worsening abdominal pain, foul-smelling discharge, fainting or a racing heartbeat. These signs need medical care, not an OPD booking. AMRUT AYU CARE™ does not perform abortions; termination of pregnancy is done only by a registered gynaecologist.

The weeks after an abortion or a miscarriage ask a lot of the body and the mind. Ayurveda treats this time as a recovery phase, much like the care after childbirth. At AMRUT AYU CARE™ the Friday Men and Women Health OPD plans that recovery with rest, a warm and simple diet, Ayurvedic Medicine for strength, and attention to sleep and mood. Care starts after your gynaecologist has confirmed the uterus is clear. Every consultation is private. Call 8698282507.

How Ayurveda Reads This Time

Classical texts describe the loss of a pregnancy as Garbhasrava in the early months and Garbhapata later. Both leave the body depleted, with Vata disturbed and digestion (Agni) weak.

Recovery care therefore follows the same logic as Sutika Paricharya, the classical care after childbirth: warmth, rest, light nourishing food and a slow return to routine.

What the Recovery Plan Covers

Rest
Two to three weeks of reduced work and no heavy lifting, with regular, early sleep.
Warm, simple diet
Rice gruel (Peya), moong dal, ghee in small amounts, cooked vegetables and warm water. Cold, stale and hot, spicy food is avoided.
Ayurvedic Medicine
Chosen at the consultation for appetite, strength and blood health. Please do not self-medicate.
Emotional support
Grief, guilt and low mood are common after a loss. The doctor asks about sleep and mood at every visit, and refers for counselling where needed.

Your Visits, Step by Step

First visit
History, your gynaecologist's reports and scan, current medicines, bleeding pattern and how you feel.
A written plan
Diet, rest, Ayurvedic Medicine and a daily routine for the first four to six weeks.
Review
Appetite, energy, sleep and the return of your cycle are checked at each follow-up.
Later options
Once cycles return and an examination allows, the doctor discusses whether procedures such as Uttar Basti or Yoni Pichu suit you.

When Procedures Are Considered

Uttar Basti (medicated oil instilled through the cervix) and Yoni Pichu (a medicated vaginal tampon) are classical procedures for the reproductive tract. They are never done in the early weeks, during any bleeding, with an infection, or without an examination.

Where they are suitable, Dr. Amruta Amrutkar performs them at our Ghorpadi (Main) and Manjri Bk, Hadapsar branches. Uttar Basti costs ₹4,000 per sitting. Read Uttar Basti: uses and safety before you decide.

Where to Be Seen

The Friday OPD runs in person at Ghorpadi (Main), Manjri Bk, Hadapsar and Wagholi, and online for Kharadi and Viman Nagar. Online patients receive their Ayurvedic Medicine by courier.

Questions patients ask

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon after an abortion or miscarriage should I come?

After your gynaecologist confirms the uterus is clear, usually at the first follow-up. Diet and rest guidance helps from the first week.

Will my cycle come back?

For most women the cycle returns within four to eight weeks. If it does not, or bleeding stays heavy, see your gynaecologist. The doctor here reviews it at each visit.

Is my consultation private?

Yes. Your history is seen only by the treating doctor, and nothing is shared without your consent.

Is an online consultation possible?

Yes. Kharadi and Viman Nagar consult online, and Ayurvedic Medicine is couriered to you. Any examination or procedure happens at Ghorpadi or Manjri Bk, Hadapsar.
