Ayurvedic care for digestive and anorectal disorders in Pune at AMRUT AYU CARE™. The Monday Digestive and Anorectal OPD manages acidity, GERD, IBS, constipation, bloating, piles and fissure, and supports liver care, alongside your physician's treatment. Call 8698282507.

Key Takeaways
  • Ayurveda reads most digestive trouble through Agni, the digestive fire, and Ama, the residue of incomplete digestion. Care starts by rebuilding Agni before anything else.
  • The Monday OPD manages acidity (Amlapitta), GERD, gastritis, IBS (Grahani), constipation (Vibandha), bloating (Adhmana), piles (Arsha) and anal fissure (Parikartika).
  • Care is built in layers: Ayurvedic Medicine and Pathya diet first, then Basti or Virechana where indicated, performed at Ghorpadi or Manjri Bk, Hadapsar.
  • Liver care, for fatty liver and recovery after jaundice, is supportive and runs alongside your physician's plan and blood tests. Peptic ulcer and gallstones need medical evaluation first.
  • Ayurvedic care runs alongside prescribed medicines. Nothing is stopped abruptly on our advice, and no permanent result is promised.
Read this first. Black or bloody stools, vomiting blood, severe or persistent abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, difficulty swallowing, yellowing of the eyes with fever, or a change in bowel habit after the age of 50 needs medical evaluation first, not an Ayurvedic OPD booking. Never stop a prescribed medicine for the stomach, liver or blood pressure on your own. Bring every current prescription and any endoscopy or ultrasound report to the consultation.

How Ayurveda Reads Digestion

Agni is the digestive fire. When it burns evenly, food becomes tissue and energy. When it falters, part of each meal is left half-digested as Ama, which Ayurveda holds responsible for heaviness, gas, irregular stools and, over time, many conditions beyond the gut.

Pitta-dominant patterns show as burning and sourness, Vata as bloating, irregular stools and pain, and Kapha as heaviness and sluggishness after meals. The pattern decides the plan, which is why two patients with acidity leave the OPD with different prescriptions.

Conditions We See at the Monday OPD

These are the presentations the OPD sees most. Each is managed alongside any medical care already in place, and outcomes vary by individual.

Acidity, GERD and gastritis (Amlapitta)
Burning, sour belching, heartburn and stomach pain after meals. Care cools Pitta, settles meal timing and supports the stomach lining.
IBS (Grahani)
Alternating loose and hard stools with bloating, often tied to stress. A long-term condition managed through Agni, Vata and the gut-mind link.
Constipation and bloating (Vibandha, Adhmana)
Irregular, hard stools and trapped gas. Vata-settling Ayurvedic Medicine, fibre and meal timing first; Basti where indicated.
Piles and fissure (Arsha, Parikartika)
Bleeding, pain and discomfort. Ayurvedic Medicine, sitz care and diet first. Ksharsutra, the medicated-thread procedure, is performed at our Ghorpadi and Manjri Bk, Hadapsar branches for selected piles and fistula, after examination.
Fatty liver and after jaundice (Yakrit Roga, Kamala)
Supportive liver care with Ayurvedic Medicine and diet, planned around your physician's blood tests and ultrasound, never in place of them.
Indigestion and low appetite (Ajirna, Agnimandya)
Heaviness, fullness and a poor appetite. Deepana and Pachana formulations rekindle Agni before anything stronger is considered.

What Digestive Care Includes

1
Assessment
History of meals, bowel habit, sleep and stress, a look at existing endoscopy, ultrasound or blood reports, and your current prescriptions. Nothing is stopped at this visit.
2
Deepana and Pachana
Ayurvedic Medicine that rekindles Agni and clears Ama, such as Trikatu-based and Hingwashtak-type formulations, matched to your pattern.
3
Pathya diet
Warm, fresh, timed meals; less fried, fermented and cold food; and a plan written down for your routine rather than an ideal one.
4
Panchakarma where indicated
Basti courses for Vata-type constipation and IBS, or Virechana for Pitta-type acidity and liver patterns, considered only after assessment and performed at Ghorpadi or Manjri Bk, Hadapsar.
5
Review
Digestion responds over weeks. Reviews adjust the plan, and long-term conditions such as IBS keep a periodic schedule.
Full Panchakarma, including Basti and Virechana, runs at our Ghorpadi and Manjri Bk, Hadapsar branches. Wagholi offers in-person consultation. Kharadi and Viman Nagar consult online.

Working Alongside Your Physician

Bring your current prescriptions and reports. Ayurvedic care never replaces the treatment of an ulcer, gallstones, ulcerative colitis or a liver disease under a specialist; it runs alongside it. Any change to a prescribed medicine is made with the doctor who wrote it, in steps, and we share our plan with your physician where you want us to.

Most people notice easier digestion over weeks of Ayurvedic Medicine and diet. Long-term conditions such as IBS and GERD need periodic review rather than a one-time course. Outcomes vary by individual, and no permanent result is promised. This page is educational and not a substitute for a consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long before acidity improves?

Most people notice a change over two to four weeks of Ayurvedic Medicine and diet. Long-standing GERD takes months and periodic review. Outcomes vary by individual, and the plan is adjusted at each visit.

Does Ayurveda cure IBS?

No. IBS is a long-term condition. Ayurvedic care supports management: steadier digestion, fewer flare-ups and a diet that helps, with the gut-mind link addressed alongside. We do not promise a permanent result.

What is Ksharsutra, and is it painful?

Ksharsutra is a classical medicated-thread procedure for selected piles and fistula, performed at Ghorpadi and Manjri Bk, Hadapsar, only after examination. Mild discomfort for a few days is usual. The doctor explains what to expect, and says plainly when surgery is the better route.

Is Basti safe?

Performed by a trained doctor with sterile equipment, and only after assessment, Basti is a classical procedure. It is not for everyone: active bleeding, severe diarrhoea, pregnancy and marked weakness rule it out.

Do I need to follow a diet?

Yes. Pathya is half the treatment in digestive conditions. The plan limits fried, fermented and cold food where the pattern calls for it, and is written to fit your routine.

Do I continue my current medicines?

Yes. Tell us every current medicine, including antacids and blood-pressure tablets. Ayurvedic care runs alongside them, and any change to a prescription is made with the doctor who wrote it.

What does digestive care cost?

The cost follows the plan: consultation, Ayurvedic Medicine, and any Panchakarma or procedure advised. It is confirmed at the consultation, before anything starts.
