Fistula-in-Ano (Bhagandara) Ayurvedic

Classical Ksharsutra Care for Anal Fistula, Planned After a Careful Examination • Tract assessment: the doctor examines the external opening, the discharge and the likely course of the tract before any plan is made • Imaging when needed: for complex, branching or recurring tracts, the doctor asks for tests such as an MRI fistulogram, or refers you to a colorectal surgeon • Ksharsutra: a medicated thread, placed through the fistula tract at Ghorpadi or Manjri Bk, Hadapsar, that cleans the tract and supports gradual healing as it cuts through • Thread changes at planned follow-up visits; the number of visits depends on the length and depth of the tract and is estimated after examination • Honest aftercare: discomfort, a feeling of pressure and some discharge after the procedure and after thread changes are common, and the doctor explains the aftercare in advance • Ayurvedic Medicine for wound care, bowel regularity and Agni, prescribed after assessment, alongside Avagaha Sweda (warm medicated sitz bath) • Care planned by Dr. Prashant Amrutkar, M.D. (Ayurveda), PhD Scholar in Panchakarma, with 15+ years of practice in digestive and anorectal care • A conservative management option: it may reduce the need for surgical intervention in suitable cases, and we refer you to a surgeon when the tract or findings call for it Safety first: a painful, hot swelling near the anus with fever is usually an abscess and needs urgent drainage by a surgeon before any fistula care starts.
